The history of any people is influenced by its physical environment. Which consists of area, location, topography, climate and natural resources. Ubayanon like all people in the world have good and bad character traits. Our bad character traits are however, offset by the good ones. Gratitude is another sterling trait of the Ubayanon.

We are grateful to those who are good to us or to those who have granted us favors. We value the virtue of helping each other and other people. Long ago, Ubay was built last September 01, 1847. For a brief interlude the Ubayanon under Mayor Saturnino Boyles leadership, succeeded in gaining a little bit improvement. As all we know, year 1997 the flame unfortunately spreads the old public market in Ubay. The said tragedy affects the livelihood of some Ubayanon. But as years go by. Fortunately Mayor Manuel Alesna build the new public market in Ubay. Though this work the livelihood of Ubayanon became more successful than the past leadership. In Bohol only Ubay having Stock Farm in San Pascual, Marcela Farm and Kapayas Dam that we found in Lomangog, Kiddies farm in Calanggaman and in the place of palayan we found there the Birhen sa Fatima, and many more. Many Filipinos as well us Ubayanon were having superstitions beliefs which came from India that has been followed some of us until now. Among them are the following:

1. a maiden who sings merrily while cooking will marry an old widowen.

2. a comet flashing in the sky is an I'll omen, for it brings famine, pestilence, war or other calamities; and

3. a pregnant woman who eats twin bananas will give birth to twins.

Ubayanon also celebrate some occasions like Baptism, Marriage, All soul's Day, Christmas , New Year, Fiestas and other common celebrations. Many people are striving to make this Ubay a better place that's because people here are creative. In other words, you can discover meaning and have lasting pleasure. As you will find out you don't have to be a scientist in order to discover the marvels of nature. In our part of Ubay there is truly an awakening and a movement which can serve both the call of the young for a change and the concern of the older generations for a strength and stability. While living in Ubay since birth. I learn many things I always strive to improve myself. Sometimes, I succeed; other times I fail. But I did not stop or quit in any case. I build myself into better more capable individual. I start knowing my asset, then bridge the gaps between what they are and what they mean to be. As I grow toward maturity. I discover that I can face the challenges that comes my way, no matter how great those challenges are. And if we talk about education, we have schools, in Ubay, like public and private schools in elementary, secondary and even in college. And some of Ubayanon graduated any of these schools. Education here in Ubay is the same from other schools. The fulfilment of dreams and the good future of every students are not depending of what kind of school they studied. Its up to the student if they are serious, interested and if they looked toward to their good future someday. Reaching out and touching somebody's hand can be the secret for getting along well with others. It doesn't mean physically touching the other person's hand; but it means fostering a close and harmonious relationship between you and others. As I know all of this, I realized that this is the reason why Ubayanon are blessed. So, what are you waiting for, come to see and be the friends of Ubayanon.
